A friendly face greeted our group as we signed in at reception for St Williams School Afternoon Tea. For many of our group who had spent their childhood at this school, it was a real trip down Memory Lane. We were ushered to the school prayer room which had a real sense of peace.
Mrs Teal & the children hosted a Collective Act of Worship session with readings and prayers reflecting on God’s planet. The children had made little laminated leaves with quotes for all those who attended. Following on from this the group shared afternoon tea together with an abundance of sandwiches and cakes. With very full tummies we made our way through to the Year 5 classroom where the children shared their stories about the classroom activities. In return, some of the visitors had brought photos of May Processions and their time at St Williams School.
During the following week’s lunch group those who had attended received cards from the children thanking them for coming and they, in turn, sent thank you cards/letter to the staff & pupils of St Williams School too! Tweets were sent and shared via the Catholic Schools Partnership regarding the successful event bringing to an end what was a really amazing afternoon and we can’t wait for the next time!!
