Becoming Dementia Friendly

Catholic Care began its journey to becoming Dementia Friendly in 2016 and continues to work towards this goal.
We have two trained Dementia Friends Champions, Rachel and Helen, and have run a number of Dementia Friends Information Sessions for both our staff and members of parishes within the Diocese.
Our latest two sessions took place at the Organisational Induction for new staff and trustees and at the House of Light where staff, volunteers and one of the residents took part.
Catholic Care has also joined the Dementia Action Alliance and is working towards becoming Dementia Friendly.
Our aims are for all staff to complete the Dementia Friends Information Session and to have the opportunity to become Dementia Friends, along with developing more community groups which are open to those living with dementia and their carers and also supporting the Diocese to become Dementia Friendly.
