Encouraging news for Adults with a Learning Disability Seeking Employment

The DWP have issued a press release informing that a two-year project to support people with learning disabilities and autism in finding work, has been backed by £280,000 of Department for Work and Pensions investment.

The project will include four new picture books to promote group discussions on finding and keeping a job and book clubs focussed on work across England. People with learning disabilities will also be trained as a national network of peer supporters to work with the clubs.

At Catholic Care we care for and support over 50 people with learning disabilities and autism where we focus on their abilities and not their disabilities. We view this press release in a positive light.
