Gianna visits Eureka

The Gianna project has come a long way since it started in 2011. We are now moving towards our 500th referral. Many of the families supported by Gianna do not get the opportunity to meet other families and many do not get the chance to enjoy a day trip out! This summer, in conjunction with our holiday hunger project, Eileen, Gianna’s project lead, organised a family trip to the Children’s Museum, Eureka, in Halifax.

It was a great day out with over 40 families able to attend. Families were met at several points by Catholic Care staff and they journeyed to Eureka together. Here they had a fabulous fun packed day, including a lunch funded by the holiday hunger project. Children and parents loved the Eureka experience and the giant sandpit outside proved a real favourite in the beautiful summer weather.

As a bonus each family received a pass to the Eureka for a year!

What a great day!
