World Mental Health Day is an opportunity to raise awareness of mental health issues and help end social stigma.
The theme of this year’s event is suicide and suicide prevention.
According to the World Health Organization, more than 800,000 people globally die by suicide a year. It is the leading cause of death among young people aged 20-34 years in the UK and is the second leading cause of death among 15-29 year-olds globally.
