We’re a forward-looking charity with compassion for the most vulnerable people in society.
FOUNDED 1863
Who we are
We were founded and continue to be run on Christian principles, but our services are available to all. We care for people of all faiths or no faith at all, and our staff are not required to share our founding beliefs.
Our services
Children’s Residential
We have many years’ experience of supporting children, young people and their families through challenging times and situations. We provide the highest standards of care and support.
School, Children and Family Well-Being Service
We offer a team of dedicated professionals including school social workers and educational psychologists to support children and young people whenever they have problems at school or at home.
Community
Our Community projects are based within the Diocese of Leeds and vary from Stay and Play groups and Gianna Baby Bank to Older People’s Lunch Groups and everything in between.
Adult Learning Disability Services
We support adults with varying degrees of learning disability by providing residential homes, supported living and supported housing as well as outreach support.
Mental Health Supported Living
We believe in encouraging and supporting people with mental health issues to become active and fully integrated members of the community, thereby helping to prevent relapses and hospital admissions.
Older People's Services
Our services have been developed to help older people to live independently in their homes for as long as they are able.
Caritas Leeds
Caritas Leeds will provide a practical resource both supporting and enabling social action initiatives across the Diocese to be safe and to follow good practice.
Get involved
All over the diocese, people are giving up their time, talent, enthusiasm and money to support our work, because they believe in helping those among us who have the least. Could you be one of them?
Become a volunteer
Volunteering for a charity like Catholic Care is a great thing to do. There are so many advantages – not just for us and the people we support, but for you, too!
Work for us
Our charity has over 150 full and part-time staff and volunteers in a huge range of jobs and careers right across the Leeds Diocese. We’re very proud of our employment record, not least because our staff retention is so high.
Make a donation
Every donation, however large or small, helps us to continue our work supporting the most vulnerable in society. We are very grateful for your support. Please remember to Gift Aid, if you can!
Friends of Catholic Care
By joining the Friends of Catholic Care, you’ll receive updates on our work, invitations to events, and be giving a helping hand to some of the most needy in society.
